Nitro9 Lubricants, Inc., as it is known today, was founded by Mr. A.J. Wichita. After leaving the United States Navy as an engineering officer, Mr. Wichita spent three years with the Carrier Corporation as a field engineer. In 1963, he incorporated Aqua Shield Chemical Company to manufacture silicone lubricants and sealers.In 1968 this company expanded into additional maintenance products, and in 1977 the rights to market Nitro9 additives was acquired. These lubricants serviced the petroleum industry under the name of Southwest Molybdenum Co. Some of the major oil companies that purchased Nitro9 products then are still customers today.As the market expanded in the United States beyond the Oil Industry, another corporation was instituted to replace the regional Southwest Molybdenum Co. This led to the development of Nitro9 Lubricants, Inc.Nitro9 Lubricants now endeavors to assist their customers with the many diverse applications of their product line. The Nitro9 lubricant line has expanded from the original five baseline additives to a complete approach on smoke and emission reduction on all internal combustion engines in cars, trucks, buses, D-9 caterpillars, maritime and naval vessels. This includes atmospheric fired boilers operated on ships, asphalt plants, cement plants and other operations using low quality fuel.The increase in requests for "private labeling" in the overseas marketplace led to the inception of a sister company to Nitro9 Lubricants, Inc. known as Hi-Tech Oil Blends, Inc. to consolidate the services of purchasing, packaging, and distribution for Nitro9 Lubricants, Inc. The need for this expansion was well founded, as requests for information to establish manufacturing programs and production facilities from around the world, has increased.Mr. Wichita has recently been appointed to the Texas Lone Star District Export Council by the Secretary of Commerce, the honorable William Daly. "To contribute leadership and business experience in support of the Nation's export expansion effort." Mr. Wichita's international business experience has also been recognized by the Dallas, Texas Chamber of Commerce and has been nominated for the "International Business Achievement" award for 1998.Nitro9 has been developing quality lubricants and additive products for over 40 years.
